Pomme is a clean, contemporary-chic bath collection formed in collaboration with the premier French crystal house Lalique. Its handles take the shape of apples, which can be finished in clear satin crystal or gold luster crystal. The collection is balanced by an intricately designed spout that resembles a branch, with concave curves on its sides in an architectural, modern form, creating an organic feeling of unity throughout the piece. To the touch, each sculptural handle feels smooth and soft, providing a tactile feast and a luxurious sensory experience. To make each beautiful design, Lalique’s craftsmen must work with each apple manually through a series of very complex and detailed steps. Hand polishing brings out the brightness of the leaves and the small stems across the top of each apple, which glisten in the light and capture the essence of the garden’s early morning dew. In addition to requiring the most advanced skills to create each sculptural masterpiece, producing the gold luster tone requires a very special process conducted by Lalique’s skilled artisans. Each apple is carefully placed into a golden pigment at a low temperature, and the color is then integrated homogeneously onto the crystal during firing.
