New collection by THG Paris and Lalique: Hirondelles

Exploring wildlife as a source of inspiration, René Lalique was particularly fascinated by the swallow. It is found in many of his creations, jewellery and decorative objects, which have become emblematic of the House.

As a symbol of freedom and happiness, the swallow design is now featured in a new collection of THG Paris taps and accessories. In clear, gold or platinum stamped crystal, the collection depicts with grace and lightness a sensational moment of freedom: the flight of the swallows. A refined design and precise lines are revealed in this new collection, symbolising once again the exceptional know-how of the two houses.

Hirondelles, an aerial collection, required a high degree of precision.

There were many challenges: to represent a flight of swallows in motion, to make the motif legible on a small and round surface, and to find the right balance between fine detail and product ergonomics.

A real technical challenge realized by Lalique's master glassmakers, the Hirondelles motifs are glued one by one, under heat, on the body of the piece.

In the "cold glass" workshops, the craftsmen carry out the finishing touches to the piece: cutting, carving, polishing, sandblasting, decorating for platinum and gold.

The stamping of the pure gold and platinum is carefully applied by hand before being annealed overnight.

The Hirondelles crystal is enhanced by a finely chiseled decorative ring, for which THG Paris has the know-how. From the foundry to the assembly, through polishing or finishing, all the steps of the manufacturing process of THG products are the result of more than 60 years of experience.
