GUILLOCHE : A CRAFT IN THE ART OF FAUCET MANUFACTURE

Amalgame Guillochage02 1 2

As a Maison associated with luxury bathrooms, THG Paris is passionate about preserving French manufacturing and artisanal techniques, giving rise to gem-like bathroom fittings

THG Paris offers exceptional products and has incorporated in its manufacturing process, the guilloche process on its metal pieces.

Historically used in jewellery-making, guilloche is a decorative technique, which consists in engraving a highly detailed, intricate and repetitive pattern indefinitely. By playing with the shape, spacing or interweaving of lines, it is possible to create an infinite number of different patterns. The craftsman mechanically composes his work, with dexterity for a precise and authentic result.

Introduced in 1786 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, guilloché was widely democratized in the 18th century. Originally manual, this practice became mechanized over time with guilloché machines. This revolution thus enabled jewelers to produce more complex, symmetrical and regular patterns.

This meticulous technique, which gives the objects both character and style, invites itself in our interiors and adorns the taps in our bathrooms. Guilloche’s precision and delicacy can be found in THG Paris’ West Coast collection.

Transitional in style, with crosshandles or levers, the West Coast collection designed by Timothy Corrigan combines French classicism and American audacity. Timeless, West Coast is a blend of old and new. Made from brass, this bold collection will especially reveal its transitional character with bronze, old silver or nickel finishes

Reminiscent of the jewellery and luxury objects designed by the greatest French and American jewellers of the Roaring Twenties, guilloche represents a high-end and prestigious choice.

THG Paris' guilloche taps are the result of the Maison's ongoing research to offer unique and luxurious products. Through the craftmanship of the French Maison, this practice reveals engraved lines that interweave and cross each other regularly on the authentic West Coast jewels-tap by THG Paris.
